FAQs

American Alpha K9 Training

  • How much will it cost?

Our training fees are customized based on your dog's needs and your specific goals. We'll determine the exact cost during a complimentary behavioral evaluation of your dog. We offer competitive rates and flexible programs to accommodate various budgets, whether you're looking for basic or advanced obedience training.
  • How soon will I see results?

Clients often notice improvements after the very first lesson. For instance, Michelle Nadeau from Taunton, MA, was impressed with her Golden Retriever's progress, stating, 'Riley was unbelievable after just one lesson. He listened when he was supposed to.' Similarly, James Malone from Rockland, MA, observed positive changes in his Chocolate Labrador within an hour of training.
  • Where is the training done?

We conduct individual lessons in your home and surrounding neighborhood. This approach allows us to address specific issues in your dog's familiar environment, which is beneficial for their learning process. It's also convenient for you as our trainer comes to you. For those interested in group classes, we hold sessions every other Sunday in Quincy, MA.
  • Can my family participate in the training?

We absolutely encourage family participation. It can be an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Both children and adults can benefit from observing and contributing to their dog's learning and growth throughout the training process.
  • When is the best time to start training?

While it's ideal to begin training when your dog is a puppy (around 8 weeks old), it's never too late to start. We've successfully trained dogs as old as 8 years. Our methods are effective for dogs of all ages, ensuring it's always a good time to improve your dog's obedience.
  • How much of my time will I have to devote to training?

Private lessons typically last about an hour and are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly. For optimal results, we recommend dedicating 10 to 15 minutes, three times a day, to reinforce the training with your dog. This consistent practice helps achieve your training goals more effectively.
